Party Supplies For Girls and Guys

Planning a kid’s party can be a nightmare and getting it wrong can be a disaster, but help is at hand with handy guides on kid’s parties throughout the ages, with plenty of ideas for the perfect party supplies to suit.

Pre-School Parties

These are arguably the easiest parties to get right! If your kids are very young, you can often buy party supplies that are just fun and colorful. Celebrating the first birthday of a child is as much a party for you, friends and family as it is for the child – and is a great way of getting everyone together. First birthday themed party supplies are a must have and are available in blue for the birthday boy and pink for the girl and feature the number 1, of course! Banners, badges, balloons and a whole host of other party supplies are available to help everyone celebrate – even a number 1 pi. Of course, the birthday boy or girl will be too young to break it, so it’s up to you and your friends and family to have fun on their behalf!

Past the first few years, football themes are always a winner with little boys and if he isn’t too keen on the beautiful game, an Under The Sea themed party can be cute and fun without being too ‘girly’, too. Girls will love the flowery themes in a Garden themed party – which include birthday girl plates, cups and napkins.

If you know their favorite cartoon characters, then you can really go all-out with themed party supplies – there are loads to choose from. Younger kids will love the Winnie The Pooh, In the Night Garden and Roary the Racing Car themes and as they get older they will probably prefer the Cars and Disney Fairies party supplies. Luckily, these can all be bought easily on-line, with party supply sets covering every aspect of the party – from decoration with fun banners and tablecloths, to eating the cake and fizzy pop with themed cups, plates and napkins and even entertainment with themed face painting, bubble blowers, yo-yos, pis and blow-outs.

Older Girls

If you find yourself met with an incredulous look when you ask if your little girl would like a Dora the Explorer themed party this year, you will need party supplies for older girls. Girls and boys alike love SpongeBob Squarepants – so if they are having a mixed party then he is a definite must! If she’d rather celebrate with all her ‘school yard sisters’ around her, then the Disney Princesses range of party supplies is ideal. These include images of all her favourite princesses – from Aurora to Princess Jasmine and include sparkling invitations, magic napkins, handy plastic tablecloths and even dazzling tiaras for the girls to wear.

Entertainment can be found with a fun range of pretty face-paints, as well as bubble blowers and tiara shaped pis. If your little girl is not into princesses and goes green at the sight of pink, then the Camp Rock or High School Musical party supplies are sure to please her. These include all your usual supplies, as well as stickers, top trumps and fun invitations to get everyone in the party mood.

Older Boys

Boys love adventure and there are plenty of exciting themed party supplies featuring all their favorite heroes and villains – and giving them all an excuse to wear their Spiderman pajamas! Loads of Spiderman goodies are available, from masks to blow-outs and you can transform any party venue into the Power Rangers secret hideout with the party supplies available on-line.

Older boys will love a Dr Who themed party and it appeals to the girls, too, if they are inviting all of their class-mates – just try not to look too terrified walking into a party where everyone is wearing Cybermen masks and clutching Dalek balloons! If all else fails, a pirate themed party is fantastic fun for boys of all ages – just keep the pretend grog flowing into the pirate cups and the inflatable swords full of air as they bash pirate-themed pis, balance their parrots and adjust their eye-patches!

Once your kids reach a certain age, it can be very tricky knowing exactly what they want in a party – suddenly pirates are ‘lame’ and Hanna Montana just won’t cut it. Luckily, you can never go wrong when it comes to letting them dress up – and a themed party is ideal. Roll out the red carpet for a Hollywood themed party, or get the disco ball at the ready for a Disco Dance themed party for teenage party success!
